I would normally state to people that I do my grocery shopping on Sundays. This is not really true at all. I do my grocery shopping on Sundays, Wednesday afternoons and Friday evenings. This is because the kids have snacked me all out of the multitudes of things I purchased for their entire weeks' worth of lunches and after school snacks by Tuesday afternoon, and by Friday I am too tired to cook and too broke to order the kind of pizza they deliver to you, so I am forced once again to renege on my "no more frozen pizza" resolution and hit the freezer section for some yummy bakes-in-10-minutes goodness.
You might wonder why I am such an indulgent parent that I allow my kids such unrestricted access to the snack cupoard that they've eaten enough twinkies, swiss rolls and fruit rollups for an entire kindergarten class within three days. Frankly, I wonder the same thing myself. No, really, I don't wonder it at all. I know exactly why I allow this: It's EASIER. Easier than fighting, easier than tears, easier than trying to get dinner done first when I've got horses and dogs and chickens to feed, homework to oversee.
Add to this that mornings and evenings at my house are just hectic beyond belief. Nearly every day I forget to get something, do something, make something or medicate someone. I've given up worrying about it, its just a fact of my life.
One of the things I often forget to do as I'm slamming the door shut on the latest dryer load is add a dryer sheet.
I'm not big on heavy scents and I'm REALLY not big on having my clothes stuck together with static cling. I live in an extremely dry region. I tried the dryer balls once, but the dogs ate one and the kids thought the other one had better use as a toy and it disappeared somewhere in the recesses of the toybox.
A week ago I got a box in the mail from Bounce. I forgot all about signing up to try the dryer bars, so it was kind of a happy surprise to get a box in the mail.
Because there's always laundry rotating through the mix in this house, I got to try the Bounce Bar right away. Getting the plastic strip off the sticky part was a little tricky -- it was hard to pull off at first. But once I got that sucker off and stuck the plastic assembly in my dryer, I was good to go.
I'm only about four loads into it so far, and I've got to give it an enthusiastic "Heck, yeah!" The scent is hardly detectable, and I dislike heavily scented household products. It provides superb static cling control, better in fact than the dryer sheets I've been using. Best of all, its an EASY BUTTON win. No more forgetting to throw in the dryer sheet. I just need to remember to replace the bar, and the product is designed to change color and show you a "replace" indicator in approximately three months worth of use.
Now if Bounce could just invent a robotic nanny who will do my food shopping and dispense morning medications...
